Netxol Billing vs Splynx: ISP billing tools that know the network

Splynx is the mature choice for ISP-specific billing. Unlike the horizontal SaaS billing tools, it knows what a subscriber, a PPPoE session and a data plan are. It is a reasonable stack. Where do Netxol and Splynx differ?

Splynx is a South-Africa-founded ISP billing + management platform popular in Africa, LATAM and parts of Asia. It bundles CRM, billing, RADIUS, MikroTik integration, tickets and a customer portal. It is a coherent product. The differences with Netxol are in scope and in the platform integration story.

The unique Netxol asset in Pakistan

The JazzCash and EasyPaisa collection layer is a Netxol-specific asset — Netxol operates as the aggregator, so an ISP starting on Netxol can accept mobile-wallet payments the day the Subscriber App is installed. Splynx expects the operator to bring their own merchant relationships.

The MikroTik-first assumption

Splynx is deeply integrated with MikroTik and does that well. For an operator that will forever be MikroTik-only, this simplifies things. For any operator running (or planning) mixed vendor equipment — MikroTik plus Cisco plus a Huawei OLT — the assumption stops helping. The Netxol vendor-neutral RADIUS and ACS surface is designed for the mixed reality. See the [Netxol NMM module](/products/modules/nmm) and the [Zalpro comparison](/blog/netxol-vs-zalpro).

Migration from Splynx

Subscribers, plans, sessions, invoices and payment history import from Splynx via a supervised export. See the operational payment story in [How Netxol collects JazzCash + EasyPaisa](/blog/jazzcash-easypaisa-for-isps).
